About

I built this on the floor.
Not in a classroom.

I am Ashton Kolbaba. I have spent eighteen years in hospitality and the last three focused entirely on one thing: how restaurants turn great experiences into reviews, rankings, and revenue.

Reviews to Revenue is the system I built doing it.

Helping restaurant leaders build cultures that turn great experiences into five star reviews.

Two restaurants. Two teams.
The same result.

I built this system inside a much-loved 40-year-old Mediterranean restaurant in Banff that had quietly slipped down the rankings. Ten months later it was number one in Banff and in the top one percent of restaurants worldwide on TripAdvisor.

Then I took the same system into a high-volume distillery, twice the size, with a completely different concept and a different team. It climbed from #46 to #4 in its market. Different restaurant, same playbook, same result.

That is what told me this was not luck or a one-off. It is a system. It works regardless of concept, size, or starting point, as long as it is implemented properly. That is the whole idea behind Reviews to Revenue.

Great restaurants lose
to better-reviewed ones.

I watched it happen again and again. A restaurant doing everything right on the floor, quietly losing guests to a worse one with a stronger online reputation.

New guests do not experience your restaurant first. They experience your reviews. And most owners have no system for turning the great nights they already deliver into the reviews that decide where they rank.

When you focus on delivering an experience worth sharing, everybody wins. Your team, your guests, and your business. That is why I built Reviews to Revenue.

What I Believe

Reviews are not luck.
They are an output.

A few things I have learned taking restaurants to the top.

The best restaurant does not always win

The best-reviewed one usually does. You cannot control the algorithm, but you can control what feeds it.

Great service is not enough

A great experience and a five-star review are two different outcomes. One happens on the floor. The other takes a system.

It has to work on the floor

Theory does not move rankings. Everything I teach is built to be run by a real team during real service.
